The End Of The Mountainous Ordeal

Descending from the mountains into the more gentle topography of tropical Petén province, I find myself riding through fields, meadows and forest.
On reaching lake Petén Itza, I once again find myself getting stuck in the little, picturesk and vibrant island town of Flores, inhabited and frequented by locals, emigrants from the southern countries and international travelers alike.
Time to enjoy the luxury of having a room and the company of interesting people again.
Later I move across the lake's arm to San Miguel, a smaller, quieter village, but a short boat-ride from the touristic beat (and prices) of Flores...
